Lindsay Alicia
Designer Knitwear
" Fashion is about fantasy, but mine is a realistic fantasy. My goal is to create clothes that make women feel good all day and into the night. Fashion isn't really about what you wear, but who you are. I hope that my clothing will help women express who they are."
Designer Lindsay Alicia Mann created her first collection when she was a junior in high school. Inspired by her experience and an internship at a design studio, she couldn't wait to work in the fashion industry. But education came first, beginning at Sarah Lawrence College. Even while studying liberal arts, Lindsay organized fashion shows of her own creations and those of other student designers. She then spent a year studying fashion design at Polimoda Institute in Florence, Italy, followed by a BFA from the Fashion Institute of Technology, where she specialized in knitwear and sportswear.
Throughout her college years Lindsay remained active in the fashion industry, taking on internships and producing fashion shows and solo showcases, collaborating with NY-based graffiti artists, and raising money for breast cancer research.
"I listen to the women around me, I am inspired by the women around me, and ultimately my pieces are reflections of those women."
